Aflac Donation to Assisi

When we introduced our employee-led charitable giving framework, I was really pleased to see it create opportunities for colleagues to support causes that have a personal meaning to them. Across #ourbrood, there are so many charities and community organisations that have touched people's lives, and this programme gives us a way to recognise and support them. 

This week, I had the privilege of presenting a cheque for £2,624 to my nominated charity, Assisi Animal Sanctuary. Assisi provides care, shelter and second chances to animals with nowhere else to go, and this funding will help cover ongoing costs including food, veterinary care, warm beds, enrichment and safe shelter. 

I've supported Assisi for a number of years and have also used my CSR day to volunteer at the sanctuary. Seeing first-hand the dedication of the team and the difference they make to vulnerable animals has made me even more passionate about supporting their work.

While our partnership with The Children's Cancer Unit Charity remains our main charity focus, it's great that our employee-led framework allows us to support other causes that matter to our people too. For me, it's a simple but important way of helping colleagues give back to charities and community groups that have played a meaningful role in their lives.
