Celebrating Pride Week at Aflac NI

As part of Pride Week in Belfast, we came together to celebrate, learn, and show our support for the LGBTQI+ community with a series of fun and meaningful events.

We kicked off the week with a Pride Quiz hosted by our very own DJ Carson, who brought the energy and provided plenty of laughs. It was a great way to connect with colleagues and get into the spirit of Pride, all while learning a few facts along the way!

Later in the week, we were joined by ShoutOut, a registered charity committed to improving life for LGBTQ+ people by sharing personal stories and running educational programmes. Several of us took part in their “ABCs of LGBTQI+” workshop, which offered a welcoming and informative introduction to LGBTQI+ identities, terminology, and allyship. Whether attendees were completely new to the topic or just looking to refresh their understanding, everyone walked away having learned something new.

Finally, to end the festivities, on Saturday morning, Aflac Northern Ireland opened its doors for a colourful Pride Breakfast at our offices. Colleagues gathered over rainbow bagels, coffee, and plenty of laughs, before breaking into some truly unforgettable karaoke performances — a joyful start to the day’s celebrations.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part – and to those who helped organise! It was a joyful and educational week that reminded us of the importance of inclusivity, visibility, and continued learning.
