IWD 2026 - Give to Gain: Allyship in Action

For International Women’s Day 2026, our One Brood committee hosted “Give to Gain: Allyship in Action”, an interactive workshop designed to highlight the lived experiences of women in our organisation and equip all colleagues with practical allyship behaviours. The session drew on real stories and insights shared through last year’s retrospective, offering participants a chance to explore common workplace challenges through scenario‑based discussions. We explored six themes, with groups rotating through the stations - They reflected, shared observations, and built a deeper awareness of how everyday actions can either support or undermine equity.

We closed the event with a collective call to action: each participant completed a personal allyship pledge, committing to one meaningful behaviour they will adopt moving forward. These pledges were displayed on our Allyship Wall, serving as a visible reminder that progress is created through ongoing, intentional choices made by all of us. Give to Gain captures that idea - that when we actively support women to speak up, lead, and thrive, the entire organisation benefits.

We also marked the launch of a very special book. Inspired by Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, several of our female colleagues shared their own stories and those of the women who inspire them - resulting in our very own “Good Night Stories for Aflac Girls.”

It was an inclusive, thoughtful, and genuinely enjoyable event that brought our teams together in a meaningful way.
